A Supportive Way To Start Running In Cheltenham

Build fitness, confidence and consistency with our Beginners’ 3-Week Trial  

Ideal for true beginners and those getting back into running.

Our Beginners’ 3-Week Trial is designed to help you start gently, feel comfortable in the group, and make steady progress with the support of experienced leaders.

You do not need to already be fit.
You do not need to already see yourself as “a runner.”
You just need to be ready to begin.

This trial is a good fit if you:

  • feel low on confidence about starting
  • would like help building up gradually
  • want structure and accountability without pressure
  • are worried about pace, fitness, or being the slowest
  • would find it easier to stay consistent with group support
  • are returning to running and want a sensible way back in

When and where the beginner sessions run

During your Beginners’ 3-Week Trial, you can attend any of the following sessions:

  • Monday evenings – 7:00pm
    Bishops Cleeve 
  • Tuesday evenings – 6:30pm
    Pittville Park
  • Wednesday evenings – 7:00pm
    Bishops Cleeve 
  • Thursday evenings – 6:30pm
    Prestbury
  • Saturday mornings – 9am
    Bishops Cleeve
  • Sunday mornings – 9am
    Prestbury

Exact meeting points are shared in advance via WhatsApp once you’ve joined the trial.
All locations have free parking, and we choose sheltered meeting spots whenever possible.

You don’t need to attend every session — most beginners choose two or three that fit comfortably around work, family, and energy levels.

Our beginner sessions are designed to feel manageable and encouraging, with a gradual build-up based on where you are now.

Friendly leaders

Our leaders help guide the sessions, support your pacing, and make sure no one is left behind.

Help using a simple running app

We’ll help you set up a free running app on your phone or watch so you know when to jog and when to walk, without having to guess.

Flexible weekly options

You can choose the sessions that suit your week best, rather than feeling like you have to attend everything.

Guidance between group sessions

We’ll also help you with simple runs you can do from home, so you can build confidence outside the group too.

By the end of the three weeks, you’ll have a much better idea of your pace, your confidence, and the best way to keep progressing with the club.
