Why Balance is Important for Runners and How to Improve it

Do you suffer from ankle sprains or feel unstable running on wet or uneven surfaces?

Running is a series of single legs stands so your ability to balance on one leg has a big influence on how stable you feel when running.

Watch this video to learn how you can improve your stability specifically for running.

Stable muscles react faster when you stand on a root or edge of a footpath curb. By reacting quickly these muscles bring the ankle back into a safe position before ligaments are stretched to the point of damage.

Watch this video and start working on your stability. Most exercises can be done while carrying out day to day activities so you don’t need to get changed and sweaty to get results.

Our balance/stability improves faster than most types of strength. You can even notice improvements within a session if you perform an exercise 3-4 times on each leg.
