In this workshop Kate and Conor discuss the importance of utilising your largest muscle group as well as how to make the most of it. Gluteus Maximum is the heaviest muscle in your body and is able to generate more power than any other. Unfortunately, since the invention of chairs, many of us have forgotten how to use our glutes and instead rely of the muscles of the front thigh instead.
We’ll show you exactly what movement patterns lead to this problem and show you how to fix it with common exercises such as the squat and lunge.
We go into further depth, explaining the lesser known roles of the glutes such as hip stability, lower back support and rotation of the leg. We’ll also demostrate exercises to improve these movements and stretches to fix the muscle imbalances which arise due to a lack of strength in your glutes.
Enjoy and please let us know if you have any suggestions to make this workshop better next time around.
