The short answer
The CRWC three-week running trial in Cheltenham helps you choose the right starting route and level of coaching support before joining. If you cannot yet run continuously for around 30 minutes, choose the Beginners Three-Week Trial. If you can, choose the existing-runner trial that gives you the level of support you want.
How the three-week running trial in Cheltenham works
Decision 1: which starting route fits my ability?
Beginners Three-Week Trial
For people who cannot currently run continuously for around 30 minutes.
Existing Runner Trial
For people who can currently run continuously for around 30 minutes. Compare Basic and Premium on the New Runner Trial Options page.
Decision 2: Basic or Premium?
| Route | Best for | Support included | Price | Next step |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Beginners Three-Week Trial | People not yet able to run continuously for around 30 minutes | A route designed for building confidence and consistency | See the Beginners route | Explore Beginners |
| Basic Three-Week Trial | Existing runners who want to try CRWC sessions, structure, pace groups and community | Choose suitable sessions from the current schedule; no individual coaching-app programme | £15 for three weeks | Choose Basic or Premium |
| Premium Three-Week Trial | Existing runners who want a more supported start | Direct Head Coach support, coaching-app setup, session plans and personalised guidance | £20 for three weeks | Choose Basic or Premium |
Basic Three-Week Trial — £15
Basic is for existing runners who mainly want to experience CRWC sessions, structure, pace groups and community. It suits people comfortable choosing sessions through the current running schedule, without an individual coaching-app programme.
Premium Three-Week Trial — £20
Premium is only £5 more than Basic and is commonly chosen by runners who want a supported start. It is not an upsell or a faster-runner tier: it is about the level of support you want.
- A direct line to the Head Coach
- Help choosing suitable sessions and pace groups
- Individual coaching-app setup
- Session plans for group running or solo runs
- Personalised support across the three weeks
What happens after the trial?
The trial does not automatically renew and there is no obligation to become a member. Afterwards, you can choose the ongoing option that suits you. Premium Membership is a separate post-trial decision.
Before your first session
Use the current running schedule as the final check before attending. If you are unsure about the right group or session, Premium participants can ask the Head Coach; otherwise contact the club rather than guessing from an old post.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Basic and Premium?
Basic is the lower-support option for trying CRWC sessions and community. Premium adds direct Head Coach support, coaching-app setup, session plans and personalised guidance.
Is Premium only for faster runners?
No. Premium is about the level of support you want, not speed.
Why might Premium be the best way to start?
It can be a good fit if extra reassurance, help choosing groups and sessions, and a personal plan would make your first three weeks feel clearer.
Does Premium include a coaching app?
Yes. Premium includes an individual coaching-app account.
Can the session plans be used for solo runs?
Yes. The plans can support CRWC group sessions or solo runs.
Do I have to become a Premium Member afterwards?
No. Premium Membership is a separate decision after the trial.
What if I cannot yet run continuously for around 30 minutes?
Choose the Beginners Three-Week Trial.
