Lace Up Your Shoes and Explore the Cotswolds: Introducing Saturday Adventure Runs!

Get ready to experience the Cotswolds like never before! We're thrilled to announce the launch of our brand new Saturday Adventure Runs, a series of exciting runs designed to showcase the breathtaking scenery, historic sites, and hidden gems of our beautiful region. Forget the same old routes – we're taking you on a journey of discovery!

For too long, we've been stuck in a rut, running the same trails week after week. While we love our regular runs, we felt it was time to inject some serious adventure into our Saturdays. That's where the Saturday Adventure Runs come in. We're breaking free from routine and exploring the diverse landscapes that surround us.

What are Saturday Adventure Runs?

These aren't your typical organized runs. We're talking about immersive experiences that combine the joy of running with the thrill of exploration. Each week, we'll choose a different location, showcasing the best of what the Cotswolds has to offer. From rolling hills and ancient woodlands to charming villages and panoramic viewpoints, you'll discover places you never knew existed.

What Can You Expect?

  • Diverse Terrain: We'll be mixing it up! Some runs will follow quiet, scenic lanes, perfect for road runners looking for a change of scenery. Others will take you off the beaten path, exploring rugged trails and natural surfaces. We'll clearly communicate the dominant terrain for each run, so you can choose the right footwear and be prepared for the adventure ahead.
  • Stunning Scenery: Prepare to be amazed! The Cotswolds are renowned for their beauty, and we'll be taking you to the most picturesque spots. Imagine running past historic landmarks, through charming villages, and enjoying panoramic views that will take your breath away.
  • Community Spirit: Our Adventure Runs are all about connection. You'll be running alongside a group of friendly and enthusiastic individuals who share your love for running and exploration. It's a fantastic opportunity to meet new people, make friends, and share the joy of discovery.
  • Post-Run Social: After some runs, people may choose to stay for a drink or food if the location and timing make it practical. Check the details for each Saturday; a post-run stop is optional, not part of every booking.

Who's Invited?

Club members and suitable non-members are welcome. If you're comfortable on one of our normal road runs and can enjoy a countryside walk, an Adventure Run could be a good next step. Led groups and route choices vary by date; if you're unsure, start with the shorter route. These are relaxed, social outings rather than races, with regrouping and walking steep hills completely normal.

How to Get Involved:

See the current dates, meeting points, route information and booking links on the Running Schedule. Book the run and route group you intend to join in advance so we know how many leaders to plan. You do not need to join the club to book one of the Autumn Adventure Runs.

Stay Tuned!

If you’d like occasional emails about future Saturday Adventure Runs, join our Adventure Run email updates list. It’s optional, open to non-members, and separate from booking a place on a run.
